GETTING STARTED

From bill of materials to sealed paperwork.

PPWR applies on 12 August 2026. If you sell packaged goods under your own brand in the EU, you're the “manufacturer” and you must hold a Declaration of Conformity for your packaging. Here's how Sealply gets you there.

1

Install in one click

Add Sealply from the Shopify App Store. It reads your product catalogue automatically — nothing to import.

2

Add your business identity

Legal name, address, and the person who signs. A Declaration of Conformity needs a legal signatory before it can be issued (PPWR Art. 15).

3

Describe each product's packaging

For every product, list its packaging components — material and weight. That single bill of materials drives everything else.

4

Generate the Declaration

Once a product's packaging is complete, download a signature-ready Annex VIII Declaration of Conformity as a one-page PDF.

5

Screen substances

Record PFAS attestations for food-contact packaging and heavy-metal attestations for the rest — Sealply flags what's still missing.

6

Report your quantities

Export packaging-quantity reports for LUCID and CITEO today, with US state EPR reports coming from the same data.

Do you actually owe a DoC?

If you fill packaging or sell under your own brand/trademark, PPWR treats you as the manufacturer (Art. 3(13)) — you draw up the Declaration. Pure resellers only need to hold a copy (Art. 18(7)). Sealply asks a couple of questions and tells you which applies to each product. This is document tooling, not legal advice.
